AWAY LUGGAGE
OUR LUGGAGE
This is not a sponsored post, although if we could work with Away in the future, we would love to.
We solely use Away Luggage for all our travel needs. They have been incredibly reliable and their warranty makes all the difference for us. On a recent trip, one of our pieces got cracked and Away was so quick to help us out with a replacement.
We have two in the medium size. We have used these sizes the most, they are really tough to overpack so we never have to worry about weight at the airport and they hold a surprising amount. on smaller and warmer vacations we often pack in just one of them.
We have two in the carry-on size. These fit inside the medium size suitcase so well, making them very storage space-efficient. This is the perfect weekend in Vegas sized case. It also has an option for a UBS charge which we love and regret not getting for both.
We also have a large size. This is awesome for long hall trips like our recent Europe trip but be aware, this one was often overweight for our flights. It is exceptional roomy but makes overpacking very easy, just something to be mindful of. It also holds the medium very nicely so if you complete the stack, large, medium and carry-on, you only have to store the large, space-wise.
Away also created bags that attached nicely to your luggage. We have two backpacks and an everywhere bag. They have changed the bags slightly since we got ours so we might need to invest in an updated one since my backpack isn't holding up as nicely as expected. Stick with the canvas/nylon bags rather than the limited patent patterned ones is all I’ll say.
The downsides to Away Luggage are they have such great colours you’ll want them all. Marika had a limited edition Grey Malin one (unfortunately, the one that broke) that is so easy to spot on the carousel at baggage claim. Our replacement is black, but we will find a way to jazz it up and make it recognizable to us. Marika’s carry-on is white and although nice it gets marked up easily. We would recommend a dark colour to our past selves and either get it monogrammed or find a way to personalize it so you find it easily. Wilson has a navy case with a Hawaiian turtle bumper sticker. The only other downfall, aside from being pricy, it is worth it though, is that they currently have very limited stock due to global pandemic shortages. We will keep an eye on that though and update when that is sorted out.
Something we did on our last trip was add packing cubes. It made packing and repacking so much easier as well as kept us organized though out our multi-country adventure. We got ours on Amazon, they worked great for what we needed but there are far better quality ones elsewhere.
We also got ourselves some Airtags, we are pretty nervous about our luggage getting left behind and not being able to locate it in time for us to head to our next destination. It was really nice too, sitting on the airplane waiting for taxi and seeing that our luggage had rejoined us under the plane.
